Arteriograph & Occupational Health
For cardiovascular screening programs the occupational medicine is an ideal place, because effective, but simple and fast enough point of care diagnostic methods, such as Arteriograph can easily be applied at working places, offices, where a large number of employees in their active age are available. The employers are motivated to provide different bonuses to employees and are willing to bear the costs fully or partly of the screening. Cardiovascular screening with a “point of care” Arteriograph method does not require medical surroundings.
Use Arteriograph to
- Screen the Cardiovascular risk among the employees.
- Provide different bonuses to employees and by employers as they are willing to bear fully or partly the costs of the screening.

1. Prevalence and Extent of Atherosclerosis in Adolescent and Young Adults
A multinational study of atherosclerosis composed of more than 2800 young adults, black and white men and women who underwent autopsy was done in USA. The aim was to evaluate the extent, prevalence, and the topography of atherosclerotic lesion.
The result revealed that in the abdominal aorta the prevalence of fibrous plaque was 13% in teenagers between 15-19 years, and the calcification of these plaques was 1.4%. If we go up to age range 30 to 34, we can see a very large increase in prevalence of the fibrous plaque to be 65% and almost 13% of them had been calcified. The situation is not much better among the white women.
So, we can conclude from these alarming results that even in young adult, the aortic calcification occurs in about 13% of the subjects which can be an acceptable reason for frequency of cardiovascular events among this age group. Consequently, one should pay special attention to screen the main group of workers in this regard to protect and promote health at the workplace. Arteriograph has been proven to be a reliable approach in evaluating the general health and well-being of employees in the workplace by measuring the main parameters for atherosclerosis risk assessment.
